Copyright & Fair Use: In Plain English

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge of the general student population on today's current Copyright & Fair use laws of the United States. In general, it will cover the basics of copyright itself, and how it can be applied to their everyday life from blogging, making movies, websites, graphics, to school projects and how copyright affects each of those. It will also cover what is and is not considered Fair Use for students, and what could potentially land them into trouble. Everything in this course will be explained in plain english, that hopefully, will allow everyone to walk away with a clearer concept of copyright law.

 

Windows Movie Maker: Editing Digital Videos

This workshop will look at how to use Windows Movie Maker to easily create and edit video. With Movie Maker, you can create, edit, and share your movies with just a few simple actions.

 

Introduction to Windows Media Encoder

Microsoft Media Encoder is a powerful tool that can be used for a variety of purposes. Through this course the student will learn how to convert audio and video files to windows media format, compress and change the attributes of the files to be encoded.

 

iLife '06: Exploring iMovie and iDVD

This workshop will cover the basics of Apple's iMovie and iDVD and the way they fit into to the iLife '06 suite. It will cover the basic interface, and tools of both programs and how they can be integrated together.

 

Adobe Premiere: Creating Digital Movies

This course will cover the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro. It will cover capturing video, the basic editing tools, and exporting the project to a useable uncompressed video format ready for DVD Authoring.

 

iWeb and Garage Band

Introduction to the fundamental features of Macromedia Flash MX 2004: use the Macromedia Flash interface, create animations and movie clips, add sound, add interactivity, and publish and export Macromedia Flash movies.

This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of good database design.

 

Introduction to PHP

This course is designed to introduce the student to the PHP server-side programming language and what its capabilities are. The course will demonstrate how PHP can be used to gather form information and print output to an html page. This course should also expose the student to other more complex uses of PHP, such as its ability to gather and insert data into databases.

 

Dynamic Web Development using Dreamweaver: PHP/MySQL

The goal of this course is to teach the user how to create and publish a web site in Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 that can connect to a MySQL database and perform simple database interactions, such as logins and displaying records. Create a new site in Dreamweaver that uses PHP/MySQL. Connect a Dreamweaver site to a MySQL Database. Use the built in wizards to utilize your MySQL Database.

 

Advanced Editing using PHP: Forms and Sessions

This workshop introduces the participant to the basic operations of Adobe Photoshop. Learn the basic tools and functions of Adobe Photoshop. Emphasis will be placed on the Web graphic capabilities of this program.

 

Introduction to Fireworks

This workshop introduce participants to the basic operations of Macromedia Fireworks. Learn the basic tools and functions of Macromedia Fireworks. Objectives: 1. Creating a new Document. 2. Interface - Users will learn how the tools are organized and where to find each of the tools. 3. Layers - Users will learn how to create and work on several different layers. 4. Effects - Users will learn how to add live effects to a project including the use of multiple effects on a single object. 5. Saving and Exporting- Users will learn how to save projects in different formats.

 

Advanced Fireworks: Creating Rollover Buttons for Web Pages
