Digital Cinema Contest Rules & Requirements

Rules
Failure to comply with any of the following will automatically disqualify an entry.

  • Participants must be enrolled in classes during the Fall '07 and/or Spring '08 semester(s).
  • Entries must fulfill all Entry Requirements.
  • Ideas must be pitched to a group of judges who will decide if your project is sponsored or independent.
  • Sponsored Projects All Projects
    Sponsored projects must be entered in one of four categories:
    1. Alternative
    2. Animation
    3. Documentary
    4. Narrative
    Prizes will be awarded for the top film in each category.
    All projects will be awarded prizes for:

    Best Director, Best Actor/Actress, Best Score, Cinematography, Original Story, Best Special Features, and Views Choice.
    If your project is not sponsored the first time you pitch your idea, you may continue to pitch until the final pitch date, February 27th.
    Important Dates
    Callout: September 10th and 11th, 6:00 - 7:00 pm, at the DLC.
    Pitch Dates:
    September 18th, 6:00 pm
    October 11th, 6:00 pm
    November 14th, 6:00 pm
    January 29th, 6:00 pm
    February 27th, 6:00 pm
    Entry Deadline: Monday, March 31, 2008
    Awards Ceremony: April 17, 2008 at the Wabash Landing 9 Theatre.
  • Multiple entries are allowed.

Requirements
  • Completed registration form.
  • One (1) fully authored DVD in a DVD case.
  • Feature must be between 30 seconds and 7 minutes long.
  • Movie Credits.
    All entrants must own or secure permission to any copyrighted materials used in their entry.
  • Script, Storyboard, or Animatic
  • Production Reflection/Directors Commentary (maximum 7 minutes each)
